Lots. On our first day, we did the historic walk around Thamel and south of Durbar Square after having a much-deserved breakfast at Gaia.
Buddhist and Hindu temples abound in Kathmandu, and some of them have veeery interesting things you should keep your eye out for.

There are a lot of temples hidden in private courtyards in Kathmandu, and you might miss them if you don't come looking. This one is part temple, part laundry room.
The name Kathmandu comes from this building in Durbar Square, which used to be an inn: the Kasthamandap.
You have to pay an entrance fee of 700Rs to enter Durbar Square so we decided to save the inner sanctum walk for another day.
We went south instead, and almost walked past Hot Breads - one of our favorite bakeries in Pondicherry. It was time for lunch anyway, so we stopped for a bite... or five :)
Then it was back to visiting temples and stupas, and people-watching in markets. Sometimes, temples and markets are the same thing!
